You already have the answers. My work is to help you access them.
Karishma is a holistic wellbeing mentor whose work bridges ancient wisdom and modern life. Her practice is grounded in applied yoga, psychology, and long-format emotional work, designed to help individuals build regulation, clarity, and inner strength over time.
With over 16 years of dedicated practice, Karishma works with clients across the world through a deeply personalised, practice-led approach. Her work is not about quick fixes, but about learning how to live well, with steadiness, agency, and emotional literacy.
Her Approach
Karishma’s methodology brings together Eastern somatic practices and Western psychological frameworks. It is structured, experiential, and goal-oriented, while remaining deeply human and intuitive.
Her work focuses on emotional regulation, self-awareness, and the ability to respond to life with clarity rather than reactivity. Clients are supported through simple, accessible practices that restore a sense of control, confidence, and calm, not by outsourcing wisdom, but by cultivating it within themselves.
Through her sessions and her writing, Karishma empowers individuals to practise their way into resilience, presence, and grounded living.
Education and Training
Karishma’s academic and professional background spans psychology, conflict studies, communication, and embodied practices.
She holds a postgraduate degree in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health from King’s College, London. She was awarded the prestigious Felix Scholarship for her MSc in Violence, Conflict, and Development at SOAS, London.
Her earlier studies include Sociology at Fergusson College, Pune, and a Master’s degree in Mass Communication from MOP Vaishnav College, Chennai.
Her yoga training includes an Advanced Diploma in Yoga from The Yoga Institute, Sydney, with Michael de Manincor, who trained under TKV Desikachar at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai, and Yoga Nidra training with Dr Richard Miller based in the United States.
She has also studied Vedic Chanting, is certified in Reiki, and is trained in Emotional Freedom Technique, including trauma-informed EFT.
Professional Journey
Before moving fully into therapeutic and mentoring work, Karishma was a journalist and reporter, including a stint with NDTV in New Delhi. Her background in media, humanitarian work, and storytelling continues to inform her clarity, listening, and depth of engagement.
Having lived and worked in New York, London, Sydney, Hyderabad, and several cities across India, Karishma has trained with healers, therapists, and teachers across four continents. She founded SoulKatha as a platform to explore yoga as a form of emotional wellbeing, education, and lived practice.
Writing, Learning, and Life
Karishma is the author of three books on parenting and gratitude. The research and process of writing them deeply shaped her personal and professional growth.
She considers parenting her two children to be her most rewarding and enlightening life experience, one that continues to inform her work with families, young adults, and individuals in transition.
Her time spent practising organic farming at her mango orchard outside Hyderabad offered her a lived understanding of natural cycles, patience, and sustainability, principles that quietly echo through her work.
Constant learning is her default. She continues to study, read, and evolve under the guidance of her own therapists and mentors, committed to staying a practitioner first.
Outside her work, she is a closet poet, a living room singer, and someone who can be swayed by most rhythms, almost anywhere.
